The Tauranga’s outfall system upgrade involved the rehabilitation of a critical wastewater pipeline which managed the disposal of all treated public wastewater from the harbourside city in the North Island, New Zealand almost one kilometre out to sea. extended service life. NZ Lining provided the upgrade to 450m of the existing DN 600 landward section of the outfall pipeline which ran from the Pump Station to a manhole on the dunes at the edge of the beach.


Project Scope:

+ CIPP Lining of 600mm diameter wastewater outfall from the wastewater treatment plant to the seashore.

+ The project was in a very cultural and environmental area.

Project Outcome:

+ The project was a success, with the works increasing the pipeline's capacity by 100 litres per second, equivalent to 200-300 swimming pools per day, and providing a stronger relined pipe, far exceeding the strength of the original.

+ The work was completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction with no environmental incidents or lost time injuries.
